How To Become a Pilot

Step 1: A) Private Pilot License/Certificate (PPL)

Whether you plan to become a professional or just fly recreationally The Private Pilot Certificate is the first step of the process. It is the most sought-after type of pilot certificate. With it you will legally be able to fly a single engine aircraft, and fly friends and family. If you plan on becoming a professional pilot, this certificate would be your first major milestone on your way to reaching your goal.

Our PPL (Private Pilot) course provides our students with all required aeronautical knowledge, proficiency, and experience requirements listed in 14 CFR 61.105, 61.107, and 61.109 respectively. Students are encouraged to finish their entire theoretical training online and examination (Written Exam) before beginning the flight training.

Estimating the exact amount of flight training and therefore the cost of said training is not easy, as learning is an individual process that varies from individual to individual. With that in mind we have made the following table, breaking down the cost of the PPL course with one colum representing the bare minimum training requirements as mandated by the FAA which would result in the minimum possible cost of our PPL course, and the other colum representing the average training our students require in order to complete the PPL course in our experience.

Averages as always should be taken with a grain of salt, and your specific training requirements might vary slightly. We belive this more transparent approach should help our potential student get a better idea of the estimated cost of flight training,  and will help our students be financialy preapred to complete the training.

B) Private Pilot Ground School

This Private Pilot Ground School course can also be done online, at your own pace and at a lower cost.

 Step 2:  Instrument Rating

The next step is to achieve your FAA Instrument Rating (IR). The addition of an IR extends the privilege of a PPL holder to navigate through low visibility and adverse weather conditions according to the Instrument Flight Rules (IFR). After the addition of an IR, private pilots can further advance their aviation careers as commercial pilots.

The flight varies between half hour (0.5) up to one hour (1.0). This time is from engine start to engine

The full hour is $256 and the half hour is $128.

To this cost we have to Add $9 per flight which is a fee that Airport Port Authorities charges (referred to as “Landing Fee).
